The value of a good headshot for anyone.- doing business online or off
First off- I will admit upfront that yes I am a photographer that shoots quite a lot of CEO's and everyone else down the food chain's head shots. http://www.firstlightcreative.com/
In todays world we have much less face time than ever before. We have much less phone time, and most of our interaction seems to be more web or email based. I remember long ago hearing that one of the best things that you can do for yourself is get a good headshot. A great p.r. move. It will serve as an ice breaker, people will have some familiarity with you when they meet you for the first time. It will also shore up older relationships when you have not worked together for a time. So with today's social networking, ie: facebook, twitter, Linked in and websites, it is more important than ever to project a good professional image in your personal photograph.
Conversely, I think a horrible or stupid photo will work against you. We have all heared the stories about the guy or gal that didn't get the job because their photos on facebook or elsewhere had them in a "compromising position" While this discussion might seem obvious to some, it was born from a discussion I had with a client just yesterday and her need for a good strong professional image. I do hope this will convince some of you the need for a new image. If I can help let me know. I should also add that all photos I do will be retouched and enhanced to your best advantage. Cheers, Michael Candee
